Drum Loop Library Released!

It's finally here... Alex Spurkel: Electro-World Percussion!!
Just released was the first of hopefully several loop library CD's by Sony Digital Media (formerly Sonic Foundry) that features exclusively Alex playing killer loops on the doumbek, rik, djembe, electronic kit, and various other percussion goodies. Now just about anyone will be able to use samples of Alex's blistering drumming in their own tracks! You can read more about it as well as purchase it on Sony's website using this link (scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the CD thumbnail)

For those who do not know, Sonic Foundry--which was recently aqcuired bu Sony--is the world's largest producer of music production software for the PC and puts out such industry standard products as ACID, Sound Forge, and Vegas Video. Their loop libraries contain thousands of samples that can be used by almost any computer or sampler, but are optimized for use with ACID, a program that allows users to create entire songs with loops that automatically snap themselves into the proper pitch and tempo used in the current song. It allows virtually anyone with basic computer skills to produce professional sounding music! For more information, check out Sony Digital Media's website.

Alex's Remix released on "Vadalna"

One of Alex's dance remixes is included on a great remix compilation album by Solace (Jeremiah Soto) entitled Vadalna. Solace is a leader in contemporary bellydance music and will be releasing a dance remix album of his 2000 release Ahsas. Alex has made a slamin' remix of the track Khatar--in 7/8 time no less! Alex played lead drum on the original track 2 years before, and really did a tricked out number on his own drum solo for the remix. Listen to a sneak preview audio snippet now in the Audio Clips section! Another remix one the record was done by DJ Ceb-I-Seba, so it 's going to be a good one! Order the CD on Solace's website by clicking here!
